Have u ever wanted one of your articles to be read by everyone? or atleast by a lot of people?. In my school ages i did a lot. Well the solution for this problem is about to be opened for public. Muraasil.com is a new Maldivian startup focusing on open journalism and open literature. Muraasil allows users to write and publish articles to a larger audience easily, without the need of emailing it to a local newspaper. What you have to keep in mind is that this is a Maldivian service and is for “Dhivehi“. A simple registration form allows users to publish articles for free, and users can have multiple profiles and have access to the notifications of the comments made on their artciles. Not only muraasil offers these unique features, but also a great interface built for usabilty. Articles are categorised and well structured. One other great thing about this service is its support for different thaana keyboards. We all know typing thaana can be a pain in the ass, if the methodolgy used by the application is not what the user ahs get used to. User can select what keyboard he/she is familiar with in the preference, also can easily select a keyboard from 4 different major thaana keyboards. As you can see from the image (right) muraasil also supports Latin to Thaana conversion. Which means user can post a comment like ” test kuraniy” and will appear as ““. Cool huh? :D. You can also use muraasil on the go. The not yet announced mobile interface allows users to login to the service from a mobile phone and post short news of whats happening now, named as “kuru habaru”. This lating text will be converted to thaana and will be published on the website. The service also includes a built in dhivehi dictionary (radheef) for a better language and allows users to include images/videos in their articles. Channels in muraasil can be used by educational institutes schools for their teachers to manage all their students works online at an easily managble space. These channels can be either public or closed private groups. You cant access muraasil.com yet. For now its only allowed for private beta (Eveyla 1.0) testers only. But we are expecting it to be released for public on the following few weeks (or less). This could be the next great online service in dhivehi. Twitter has been the loudest buzz on the social media for quite a long now. If you dont know about twitter, let me tell you in short. Twitter is what you make of it. Basically its updating your status, which can be extended without limits. In this tutorial i am going to write about how to integrate twitter with Facebook status and Windows Live Messenger Personal Message(PSM) . It is even possible to intergrate with Google Talk status, but not so easy as few clicks, so i am just going to ignore the how to part and leave a link for you to follow. Install twitter facebook application from here. Click Go to Application > Allow on the following page Log in with your twitter credentials. This will take you to a page where you can see your public timeline. On the top right corner of the page you will see a button ” Allow twitter to update your facebook status“. Click that button and on the following page Allow Status Updates.

Integrating Facebook Status with Windows Live Messenger Personal message Since we have got twitter hooked up with Facebook status we are now going to use Facebook status to update the Windows Live Messengers Personal Message. For this we will be using a script add-on for Messenger Plus Live! (Messenger Plus! Live is an add-on for Windows Live Messenger that adds tons of features and extras to the software. Extend the possibilities of Messenger and make your experience a lot more entertaining! )

Get the latest version of Windows Live Messenger from here & the latest version of the Messenger Plus Live from here and install them. Install Facebook Status (add-on script) for Messenger Plus Live from here and click download. By default this file will open with Messenger Plus (if u have installed it) application promting you some warnings.

Now go and login to your Facebook account.Now we are going to grab your minifeed url. To do so follow these instructions:- - go to http://www.facebook.com/minifeed.php?filter=11 - on the right hand side you will find some links, at the bottom of these links you will find MyStatus, click that link - copy its url Fire up your Messenger with its Facebook Status Script add-on installed. On the top right corner you will find a boxy iconset Scripts which is right to the Add a contact or group.

When you click the icon a menu will appear. Select Facebook Status > Settings. A small box will appear, paste the already copied minifeed url the Feed field and save it. Now your messengers personal message will update automatically with your Facebook status at the given time interval.

Windows Seven is to be the next release of Microsoft’s Windows operating systems, which might take 3 years in development.  You can read more about Windows 7 on Wikipedia.

Few days ago Windows blog announced the official public beta release of  Windows Seven. So i applied myself and got a key plus download it.  the ISO image of the Windows 7 Beta build 7000 was only 2.43GB. Obviously a lot smaller than (annoying) Windows Vista. Sorry about the quick crappy blog post.

Installation All you gotta do was to burn the image into a DVD and to boot itup from your DVD drive. windows 7 Setup loading Windows 7 had a new logo with a kind of a Gaussian blur and overall the installation was same as installing Windows Vista, except the background image. I can say that installation was 100% based on Vista but installation was faster. Windows Seven Installation same as vista *These low quality images were taken from my phone (Sony Ericssion  K618i) Speed I have to say this is the first time i am able to feel like i am on a Core 2 Quad. Compared to Windows Vista this is much better. Boots up in 13 seconds which vista took minutes. Experience

twitter.com/inerds Yes that was my first impression on Windows 7. After all the crap they put on Vista i never even did think of giving pops on another Windows O/S. What windows 7 is like Vista without those bunch of message boxes, warnings prompting messages. Here is a quick screen capture of my experience

Need for Speed Undercover is the 12th release of Need For Speed from Electronic Arts, the famous street racing game publisher. Undercover was released on November 18th and so far has been a huge success. I think this si the first time EA Black Box has developed a need for speed release. Review I would say this is the best need for speed game release ever. I would give it 9.8/10. The new intelligent game play is just awesome. Got a great game controller and the Smooth 3D graphics with great car models, and colorful city districts is super cool. I am currently playing on an ATI Radeon HD3850 with a resolution of 1680 x 1050, trust me I also has played on 1920 and is super fine.

What disappoint me about undercover is mainly its story, not something new. Something like transporter of the Fast and the Furious, “that’s not so cool yoa”, another thing is the soundtracks. I loved the Most Wanted with Bullet for my valentine songs. In Undercover there were only few good songs. The worst part of all is the missing LAN mode. i just miss playing Most Wanted with my office mates. I was so disappointed to see Undercover without any network modes. Just the online mode. Blah!! The Hack Currently this is the only hack available and its by nfsnation.com, the great nation. Undercover Photomode Mod This mod disables the text and graphics in the photomode screen so that you can take pictures using your own methods (i.e. printscreen, or a program like SnagIt) without having to upload your pictures to NeedForSpeed.com. Download The Cheat I just hate to use cheats while playing Need For Speed games unlike Rockstar ones. But I am sure there are thousands searching for these right now. Currently there is only one official cheat code from EA But some guys at NFSnation were able to digg some more. EA Official Cheat Code S1D3K1CK – gives you $15,000 in-game currency by T-Mobile Click here to read the unofficial cheats, (i haven’t tested any of these yet) Cheat Happens has also released an Undercover Trainer with some cheats added and it should be easier to use. Tutorial

Please Download the Theme to continue (Cellar Heat - A Free Sweetcron theme for download) Upload the contents of the theme to sweetcron themes folder. (/system/application/views/themes/) Go to your sweetcron admin pannel (/admin), log in and chose cellar heat theme. Now its time to setup comments. I prefer DISQUS, i tried some other commenting systems, but they makes page load really slow.

After signing up click “Add Website” can be found on the top right corner. Fill the form and and as you reach the page saying Website Integration, select “Generic Code” from the drop down box. Copy the code snippet #1.

Open comments.php file with some code editor or notepad and replace the “Use DISQUS commenting code here.” with the copied code snippet #1. It should look like this when done.

Open “_activity_feed.php” and goto line no.39. It will be as follows   <span class="lower-meta"><a href="<?php echo $item->get_permalink()?>/<?php echo $item->get_name()?>" title="Comments">Comments</a></span> Paste #disqus_thread just after ?>/<?php echo $item->get_name()?>. The Final Code should look like this. <span class=”lower-meta”><a href=”<?php echo $item->get_permalink()?>/<?php echo $item->get_name()?>#disqus_thread " title="Comments">Comments</a></span>

Copy the code snippet #2 from disqus page and paste it on the same line (No.39) replacing the “Comments”. The final code set should look like this.

Pasting this code will show the number of comments posted in that particular item on the front page. Now you are done. Re upload the two edited files. That should do.

Its 6.20AM in the morning and i tried to access http://www.mdp.org.mv and it says hacked! So i checked some more about this and was shocked to know that its been 5 days since this page is on its front page. mdp.org.mv hacked - click image for full page view Seems like all they did was accessing the admin panel and adding a new article. The page says that no files has been edited and that they were asking mdp to bring a change for the 30 years! I am still wondering why maldivian democtrats are keeping this page still… may be they wants to show that they have got fan hackers…xD
